What a joy it’s been to take a nostalgic trip to a bookshop from my childhood; The Children’s Bookshop in Lindley. The shop has been a mainstay on the Lindley highstreet for the last 48 years.
In 2023 the shop has moved premises from it’s existing well-known location, to a new shop further down the street. Picture Smiths delighted in assisting with the transition with new branding. As we got into this project, we kept a close eye on maintaining all the sentimentality of the existing offering – along with some exciting new ideas.
A bespoke illustration in the style a classic children’s book cover, brings to life playful storybook characters, natural imagery and a well-known Clocktower landmark from Lindley village. The existing ‘Book Worm’ has also had a makeover, acting as a key character in the brand narrative (also available for selfie opportunities 🐛).
The illustration is used across branded material, from tote bags and gift cards, interior signage and window vinyls.
I still visit the shop with my children and pleased to help independent retail businesses thrive on our high-streets. Please support the bookshop, which has been a mainstay in Lindley for the past 50 years.
